About

Lyn has worked as a technical writer for over 10 years and recently won a 12-month mentorship in the 2016-17 Emerging Writers’ and Illustrators’ Mentorship Program with the Australian Society of Authors for her manuscript Clueless.

Her short story Hide and Seek won the 2018 Literature Factory Creative Writing Competition and was a finalist in the 2015 Cowley Literary Award, and her children’s poem Denture Misadventure received a ‘commended’ in the 2017 International Caterpillar Poetry Prize.

Inspired by her own travel adventures, Lyn loves writing for middle-grade children with a focus on endangered wildlife. She can sometimes be found wandering in far-flung places with her family, creating her own adventures.

Lyn has lived in New Zealand and the UK, but now calls Brisbane, Australia home, along with her two daughters, one husband and two dodgy cats (who she suspects are secretly plotting to kill her). She hopes to publish her first novel for middle-grade readers before the cats succeed.
